Butcher’s are proud to support the Virtual Big Dog Walk

Butcher’s Nourishing Food for Dogs will be donating meals to support the many dog charities in need, as part of its #NourishEveryDog campaign.

Charities are suffering from huge financial losses from the effects of COVID -19. The Virtual Big Dog Walk was created as a virtual event for dog lovers globally to complete charity dog walks, wherever they choose, and support animal charities who have been impacted by COVID-19.

Taking place in September 2020, enthusiastic dog walkers from around the world can join the fun via the World Big Dog Walk Website. https://www.bigdogwalk.co.uk/world-walk  where they can pledge to walk a certain distance and donate an amount for a canine charity featured on the website or a UK canine charity of their choice.

Once the miles start clocking up, Pip, the walk’s Virtual Dog, will start his journey around the world map which is updated in real time on the website depicting the miles walked by fundraisers. His aim is to lap the entire world (at least once) and see all the sights our planet has to offer.

Butcher’s is committed to nourishing dogs in need. In 2019, they set out on a mission to reach a goal of donating 1 million meals to charities nationwide and by 2020 this mission was achieved. Butcher’s have donated over 1 million meals to many dogs in need, from puppies in training, dogs on the street and retired greyhounds being given a second chance in life. Their recipes provide all the nourishment they need, delicious meals that are made with natural ingredients from British & Irish farms.

Butcher’s believe every dog should be nourished just like they nourish us. Senior Brand Manager at Butcher’s Natasha Bryant comments on the initiative “This great virtual dog walking event will give a much-needed boost to dog charities and ensure that dogs in distress are not forgotten. Butcher’s is delighted to be involved by donating meals to support the many charities, as part of our #NourishEveryDog campaign.”

Nicole Cooper, Managing Director of the Big Dog Walk series says. “We look forward to welcoming our dog walking community to the Big Dog Walk series taking place across the UK in spring 2021 but in the meantime are delighted to be able to raise money for dog charities during this difficult time with our virtual big dog walk. It is essential that they get the help that is desperately needed.”
