Cookie is feeling like a pin cushion
We have no idea what improvement is going on with Cookie on the inside until we have the next blood test but outwardly we have our old heffalump back again.
She has taken to the new diet and absolutely loves it, and is back to her usual slobbery, barky, and bouncy self whenever food is being prepared. It’s great to see her appetite back as food is something she’s always loved so much.
In terms of medication it’s not too bad. She has the Phosphorus binder on her food and the kidney support oil is bacon flavoured so she’s happy to take that. The CBD is a bit different because she’s not a fan but like always she just gets on with it and doesn’t make a fuss.
I think it’s fair to say that she’s getting pretty fed up of the daily fluids now and though she puts up with it there’s a bit of stink eye directed at us while it’s going on. She has a litre every day and it needs to be done in two spots as the fluid causes a big lump before it’s absorbed though the blood vessels. We have to alternate right side, left side daily so she’s not getting too many holes in her. She’s just a big furry pin cushion really and though she’s a bit fed up we’re really optimistic that this is doing her a lot of good because she’s happy again, and that’s really all that matters….
